Assessment and therapy in educational settings
We provide speech and language therapy services for schools and other educational establishments. The work is tailored to the students and the setting, with a collaborative approach that connects communication needs with educational and social participation.
Support can include assessment, therapy, advice and training for the adults working with the individual. We discuss what is needed before agreeing the service, rather than applying the same package to every setting.
AAC implementation and staff coaching
For someone who uses AAC, the communication system is one part of the picture. Our service also supports the family members, education staff and carers who help put it into use.
Our AAC support includes device and app training, customisation, practical implementation and troubleshooting. Online consultations can bring members of the education or care team into the same discussion, drawing on everyday examples of the person’s communication.

Communication support for case managers
We work with case managers on detailed communication assessments and interventions that align with the individual’s wider rehabilitation and support goals. Our approach considers the person, their daily environments and the people around them.
Abi’s clinical background includes complex communication disorders, autism, learning disabilities and brain injury. We discuss the assessment, reporting and ongoing input required for each enquiry before agreeing a plan.

A school or professional enquiry can concern an individual, the people supporting them, or both. Tell us what you would like help with and who is already involved. We can discuss the assessment, therapy, training or coaching needed and agree the scope before work begins.
